Yes, we have classes!

One of our favorite things to do is classes. We offer several types of classes, and would be happy to add something you are interested in - just let us know! In addition to traditional panel classes, we also offer instruction in lamp building, leaded work, mosaics, and warm glass.

If you're just a bit rusty or need studio space to work in, talk to us about Shop Time. You can come in, use our studio space, and get some tips from us without taking a full blown class.

To sign up for a class, call us at (207) 433-7505 or send us an email and let us know which class you are interested in.

Standard classes include the following:

  • Maybe Stained Glass - $45

This class is a beginner's class. In it, the student learns all of the techniques used in making a full sized, copper foiled stained glass panel, but in a smaller context. At the end of the class the student will have their own suncatcher.

The class is held in 2 3-hour sessions, usually held a week apart. All tools and materials are included in the price of the class.

  • Definitely Stained Glass Class - $90

This class is a beginner's class. In it, the student will make a copper foiled stained glass panel, containing between 50 to 60 pieces. This class builds on the Maybe Stained Glass techniques learned, and includes the process of finishing the panel with zinc came and adding hangers.

The class is held in 6 to 10 3-hour sessions, usually held once a week.

For this class, the student must purchase their own grinder head, glass and other consumables. Students may purchase their own tools, or choose to rent a student toolkit at a cost of $5 per class.

  • Intermediate Panel Class - $90

This class is an intermediate class. The student is assumed to know basic cutting, foiling and soldering techniques. In this class the student will make a copper foiled stained glass panel, containing between 120 to 300 pieces. Advanced cutting techniques, soldering skills, and the use of more difficult glass selections is included.

The class is held in 3-hour sessions, usually held once a week for as many sessions as it takes to complete a large project.

For this class, the student must purchase their own grinder head, glass and other consumables. Students may purchase their own tools, or choose to rent a student toolkit at a cost of $5 per class.
